First published as The Western Way and in continuous print since the 1980s, this book offers an in-depth but approachable guide to understanding the Western Esoteric Tradition. Following the roots of the Western tradition through the indigenous cultures of Europe through to the hermetic awakening of the middle ages and beyond, this book comes complete with practical meditations that help the tradition come alive.
It was conceived at a book-launch where an eminent orientalist declared the West to be without a spiritual tradition of its own. Caitlín and John were so grieved by this ignorant assertion that their publisher offered them a chance to refute it. What resulted was ‘a primary text for the study of deep, intuitive, Gnostic spirituality,’ as one of its reviewers, S.C.Curtis, put it. ‘A primary text for the study of deep, intuitive, Gnostic spirituality.’ |
